When Nobody Likes Your Ideas

It is hard to not be personally attached to your ideas. They are of your creation.

Pablo Picasso had a very unique flavour of art creation. I personally do not like his art. That doesn’t mean I don’t like the man.

Throwing ideas around in a group is part of any planning or brainstorming process. Some ideas are maybe written down and discussed further while other ideas are discarded as soon as they are mentioned. When it is your idea that is disregarded, it can be difficult to not feel personally hurt. But remember, it is just an idea, and your idea is not you. They didn’t like your idea, they didn’t say they didn’t like you.

Where do you let the acceptance of your ideas dictate your value? At work? At home?
