Do you ever get angry because someone cuts you off in traffic. Or because someone put the milk jug back in the fridge with only a tsp of milk?
Do you ever get anxious when you don’t know the right thing to say or anxious that you said the wrong thing and now they will think you are stupid?
Do you ever get hurt when someone you know passes you by in the grocery store but doesn’t say hello or even acknowledge you?
Do you ever get overwhelmed with the many tasks that are demanding of your attention?
There is one thing that makes the biggest difference in the solving of these “problems”. It is not finding who to blame. It is not hiding from life. It is not making lists of things to do.
The best solution to most of your problems in life is a change in perspective. A reality check.
You are one person of 7.5 billion people on a blue and green planet that is spinning around its axis at nearly 1000 miles per hour. Earth is hurdling around the sun at 30 kilometres a second or 67 000 miles per hour. That’s equivalent to traveling across Canada in about 5 minutes.
There are about 250 billion stars in the Milky Way galaxy and there are about 2 trillion galaxies in the universe.
Now, does it really matter that you were cut off in traffic. Or if you have to buy another carton of milk?
Does it really matter if a couple people of the 7.5 billion think you’re stupid?
Does it really matter if one person of the 7.5 billion people didn’t acknowledge you?
If you don’t complete your tasks, will the world stop spinning or halt its trajectory through space?
We waste so much life energy on our “problems”. We lose sight of the big picture.
Your “problems” seem critically important to you until you put them into perspective.
Are your “problems” really that important?
Just remember, whatever “problem” you’re facing, big or small, put it into perspective first. Then see if there is anything left to solve.
